Olivia La’O Castillo, PhD
Dr. Olivia la O’ Castillo holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines in 1997, and also studied Master of Business Administration in the same university in 1975 and Business Administration, Major in Social Studies from Maryknoll (now Miriam) College in 1967.
She is a member of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB) and is the President and a founding member of Sustainable Development Solutions for Asia and the Pacific (SDSAP) based in Manila, the Philippines.
She was a former President of the Philippine Pollution Prevention Roundtable (P3R), former member of the Board of Trustees of the Asia-Pacific Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production (APRSCP), and has been an environmental consultant to projects for the Joanneum Research Institute (Austria), Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
Olivia la O’ Castillo is also a member of the UNEP Life Cycle Impact Assessment Working Group (LCIA), and a guest mentor of the Young Masters Program at the International Institute for Industrial Engineering Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University, Sweden.
