MWSS signs retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno as the principal legal adviser to the task force creating an Integrated Watershed Management System for MWSS.  CJ Puno, the man principally responsible for the world’s first-ever Writ of Kalikasan, views the work of rehabilitating and protecting Angat, Umiray, Ipo, La Mesa, and Marikina watersheds as “within the purview of human rights.”

He relates such work to the third generation of human rights or the right of a people to live in a healthy environment, with the Writ of Kalikasan serving as the strongest possible legal weapon for environmentalist interventions to guarantee the health of ecosystems for present and future generations.
