The Angat Water Transmission Improvement Project (AWTIP, the “Project”) aims to improve the reliability and security of the raw water through partial rehabilitation of the transmission system from Ipo to La Mesa and the introduction of water safety, risk and asset management plans.

The Project involves the construction of a new 4.00 meters tunnel (Tunnel no. 4) by 6.30 kilometers including intake and outlet works.

TBM arrival at the inlet site: 11 February 2019 (3 months ahead of schedule)

Final tunnel excavation breakthrough: 26 March 2019.

Excavation by Tunnel Boring

Machine (TBM)  :  Started 18 February 2018.

Issued the Notice To Proceed (NTP) on 28 August 2018 to the Joint Venture of Dohwa Engineering Co., Limited, Abinales Associates Engineers & Consultants (AAEC) and Ascott Pacific Consultants Inc. Philippines (APC) for the Consultancy Services for the Contract Management and Works Supervision of AWTIP. The contract amount is USD2,412,704.00 and PhP 60,306,400.00.
