Mr. Arnulfo “Bong” Agluba, head carpenter of MWSS Corporate Office received the Civil Service Commission’s PAG-ASA Award in a ceremony at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City on September 10, 2018.
The Pag-Asa award is part of the Honor Awards Program (HAP) given by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) every founding anniversary of their agency, to deserving employees. Once again, this year, during its 118th founding celebration, CSC chose and honored government employees from all over the country who have unwaveringly dedicated their time and service to the government.
The 2018 Honor Awards Program (HAP) was opened by CSC Director IV Judith A. Dongallo-Chicano through her welcome message followed by the presentation of the 2018 HAP Awardees. The awards were divided into three categories namely, CSC Pag-Asa Award, Dangal ng Bayan Award, and Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award to which fellow MWSS employee Mr. Bong Agluba made it to the final two spots of CSC Pag-Asa Award.
Mr. Agluba was chosen from among his fellow nominees all over the country for his remarkable contributions to MWSS and to our environment as well. As a head carpenter, he diligently crafted all the woodworks and furniture needed by the agency which led to bigger savings for the agency as the need to contract out the carpentry projects was practically eliminated. Few are also aware that due to Mr. Agluba’s creativity and resourcefulness, turning scrap woods into useful furniture greatly lessens wastage to our environment.
True enough, dedication, love for work and service to others are the traits that made Mr. Agluba stood out among the rest something that did not just come to be as CSC Chairman Alicia Dela Rosa-Bala reflected when she said that “Excellence is never an accident.”
