MWSS hosts Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr. as the latter visits MWSS on 5 June 2013 primarily to dialogue with the Bulacan Water Districts regarding the Bulacan Bulk Water Supply Project (BBWSP). Welcoming the Executive Secretary were the MWSS top officials led by Administrator Gerardo A. I. Esquivel, Chairman Ramon Alikpala and the MWSS Board of Directors. They were joined by the LWUA, PPP and NWRB officials and the Bulacan contingent led by Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado and the General Managers of various Bulacan Water Districts in the dialogue. The dialogue put in the right context the BBWSP with a consultative workshop to assess the readiness of the WDs for the BBWSP. ES Ochoa assured the WDs of his support of the project noting the fact that he himself comes from Bulacan.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the ES Ochoa to be apprised on the current state of affairs at the MWSS. Via a guided discussion, the ES was briefed on the MWSS flagship program the MWSS Water Security Legacy; the Rate Rebasing Exercise currently being done; the planned MWSS re-organization; the New Centennial Water Source Project; and the MWSS’ Advocacy Program on Intelligent Use of Water.
