MWSS joins Manila Water in its clean-up drive of Taguig River last August 31, 2019.
In his message, MWSS Administrator Manny Salamat thanked the participants for their concerted efforts to comply with the Supreme Court Mandamus to rehabilitate Manila Bay and Malacañang Administrative Order 16 to expedite the rehabilitation and restoration of the coastal and marine ecosystem of Manila Bay have made our efforts on improving our sewerage and sanitation services significantly more challenging.
He said, “As the axiom goes, small steps like today’s clean-up activity at the Taguig River, miniscule as they are compared alongside the end result envisioned in the Mandamus, if done with dedication and taken collectively, and complied with our bigger programs on sewerage and sanitation all will be contributory to the success that we, the participating agencies under the Mandamus, are all striving for” said Administrator Salamat.
He also called on all participating agencies to work for the good of their respective constituents and gave assurance to the concessionaries that he will continue to strengthen their “partnership towards meeting our common end of providing sustainable potable water, sewerage and sanitation services to our customers”.
Those who also attended the event were DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu, outgoing and incoming president and CEO of Manila Water, Ferdinand Dela Cruz and Rene Almendras, respectively, and Patrick Ty of MWSS RO.
