Every February 17th, the MWSS-Corporate Office celebrates its founding anniversary. Few organizations can claim to have been in operation for over a century, and MWSS is so proud of this accomplishment that it has always made a point of commemorating. As MWSS Chairman Jose Hernandez has succinctly said in his message during the program, “this milestone would not have been possible without the support of those who paved the way for us to reach the 144th milestone.” MWSS Administrator Leonor Cleofas stated during the program, “MWSS has seen many changes over the years, and changes continue to occur, but we continue to rise to meet another day. We should be proud of what we’ve accomplished.”
The celebration was highlighted with a Thanksgiving mass and the blessing and inauguration of the new 4-story multi-level parking building. The event was also the day that Management showed how employees are appreciated and valued by giving three (3) group awards:
- To the Project Management Team of the Kaliwa Dam Project for the successful conclusion of the MOA negotiations with the indigenous peoples of Rizal and Quezon Province;
- To the Human Resource, Organizational Development and Learning Department (HRODL) for facilitating the CSC’s assessment for PRIME-HR Maturity Level II, which garnered the agency a Bronze Award; and
- The Engineering & Technical Operation Group team who stayed in the remote, severely devastated areas in Bohol providing free water to the victims of typhoon Odette.
In addition, employees with 10 to 40 years of service were honored with Loyalty Awards, all 48 of them who have found real meaning in their roles within the organization. They were presented with appreciation plaques and tokens.
The event was streamed live with the MWSS Board in attendance virtually. The event was well attended by guests from Manila Water and Maynilad, Civil Service Commission, MWSS-RO, former employees and other guests.
